Panch Koshi Parikrama is the most significant festival for women in India. It is said that Panch Koshi Parikrama completes only if someone visits all 5 sites decided by Religious Priests of Hindu Religion. These 5 places are Kardmeshwar, Shivpur, Rameshwar, Bhimchandi and Kapildhara.

How is Panch Koshi Parikrama performed in Varanasi?
This parikrama has great importance from the ancient time and known for its elaborate ritualistic practices of taking rounds of all 5 places spread across India. The procession of Panch Koshi Parikrama starts from the Manikarnika Ghat at Varanasi as well as ends at the same ghat. Women in Varanasi wake up very early in the morning and start their parikrama after taking a holy bath in the sacred water of river Ganges at the Manikarnika Ghat. They wear new clothes while taking parikrama of the five places. They do not eat anything while taking parikrama. They eat only after they complete their parikrama.

Generally, it is organized according to the Hindu Calendar and Panchangam in smaller circuits which ends at the beginning point after some days of journey (almost two, three or five days). Panch Koshi Parikramas are quite simple and less time taking than other parikramas in order to make them suitable and secure for families and old age people.

Panch Koshi Parikramas are considered as spiritual walk performed by the devotees all around the holy places. They need to be end at the place where they start. It is performed on the Ekadasi at many important places such as ISKON temple, Madan Mohan temple (Vrindavan), The KaliyaGhat (Vrindavan), Krishna Balarama temple (Vrindavan), Katyayinimata temple, Gautam Rishi Ashrama, The Tekari Rani temple (Vrindavan), The Krishna Balarama tree (Vrindavan), red sandstone tower, small wooden bridge, ImliTila, The ImliTila tree, Sringar Vat, The KesiGhat (Vrindavan), The Jagannath temple, etc.
